In honor of Earth Day, here are a few simple tips to help protect the Earth while saving money along the way. Though some changes might seem small, together we can make a big change!

Drink Tap Water

Did you know Americans spend approximately $16 billion per year on bottled water? While drinking water is always the healthier alternative to sugary beverages, drinking tap water instead of bottled water can make a big difference in your budget. You can also purchase water filters to ensure the tap water you drink is completely filtered!

Let the Light Shine!

Have you been to a home improvement store recently? What used to be a simple decision of what wattage you need is now an entire row of lighting options! From smart hubs allowing you to control the lights from your smartphone to energy-efficient light bulbs, there are many ways to light your house and reduce costs.

Save with Exercise!

Switching out your vehicle for a bicycle or just walking to nearby destinations can help tremendously. A little exercise can do wonders for the environment and your wallet! You can make a big difference just by adding some exercise into your daily routine!

Insulate & Save

If you want to reduce energy costs for your home, decreasing the amount of energy needed for heating and cooling your home is a great place to start! By adding insulation to the attic and any part of the house connected to the outdoors, your heat and A/C unit won't have to use as much energy to heat or cool your home. You'll see a significant decrease in your electricity bill!

Go Green with eStatements

Receiving your account statements online rather than through the mail helps protect trees and save paper! To make this change, sign in to Online Banking, click on eStatements from the Additional Service tab, and follow the directions to choose to receive eStatements. You'll actually save money as well, since eStatements are free, and paper statements cost $2 per month. You'll save money and trees!

With small changes, you can save money and help protect the Earth. Happy Earth Day!
