7 Frugal Ideas for Valentine’s Day
A Night In
Are both of you avid gamers? Play each other’s favorite. If you aren’t a fan of video games, try an old-fashioned board game. Don’t forget the snacks!
Stargazing
Drive a few miles out of the city and lookup. You’ll be amazed at how many stars you can see when you leave all the lights behind. Bring a blanket and have a picnic under the stars. Extra points if you get there right before sunset and get to enjoy that, too.
Explore a Mountain
Take a hike together. There are bound to be some great hiking places around, no matter where you are! Enjoy the view at the top, along with your sense of accomplishment.
Host a Cook-off
Cook recipes for each other and see which turns out the best. If you want to try and steer clear of the competition, one person can make dinner, and the other can make dessert. If you aren’t the next MasterChef, and it shows, there’s always takeout.
Mini Golf or Bowling
Yeah, you might see a bunch of high school couples at these places, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be a blast. Get a little competitive with it, just don’t let it ruin your night if you aren’t the one that ends up winning.
Brunch
Avoid the regular dinnertime crowd. Sleep in, and then grab a bite to eat. Restaurants shouldn’t be as busy as they would be at night, and they might even have specials.
Sledding
If you’re lucky and have snow in your area, grab some sleds and head down a hill! If you get bored of that, see who can build the best snowman.
