A History of Success

In past years, the Foundation has provided scholarships to graduating seniors of all public high schools in the Credit Union's service area. To date, more than $300,000 has been awarded to help students achieve their post-secondary goals. Recently, the State of Tennessee introduced Tennessee Promise, which provides two years of tuition-free attendance at a community or technical college in Tennessee. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students! However, since this now provides students the funding to further their education, the Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union Foundation for Education has looked for other ways to help our local schools.

We introduced the SIMPLY SMART Educator Grant in 2015-2016 and it was a great success. We are happy to announce that it is back for the 2017-2018 year! SIMPLY SMART Grants are offered by Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union Foundation for Education to assist educators with classroom needs and projects. One grant will be awarded to each public high school in the Credit Union’s service area: Johnson City, as well as Blount, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier and Sullivan counties.
